RHSTEP’s Rangpur UYP (Unlocking Youth Potential) Centre organized a Stakeholder Networking Meeting on 24 June 2026 at the NGO Forum for Public Health Conference Hall, Rangpur. The meeting aimed to share the progress and achievements of the UYP project’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) interventions while strengthening partnerships among government institutions, development organizations, educational institutions, and community stakeholders to improve youth-friendly health services in Bangladesh.

The meeting was graced by Dr. Shahin Sultana, Civil Surgeon of Rangpur, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Md. Shihab Uddin Sheikh, Assistant Director of the District Family Planning Office; Masud Rana, Disability Affairs Officer of the Rangpur Disability Service and Support Centre; Kuntala Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Gender and Development Studies (GDS), Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur; Shah Md. Ahsan Habib, Regional Manager of NGO Forum for Public Health, Rangpur Region; Tamim Ahmed, Project Coordinator of the CID Project at RDRS Bangladesh; Shahin Badsha, Head Teacher of Afanullah High School; Shakhawat Hossain, Head Teacher of Fatepur High School; and Mizanur Rahman, Unit Manager of RHSTEP Rangpur Medical Branch. Community leaders, teachers, students, and other relevant stakeholders also attended the event.

During the meeting, the UYP team presented the project's progress, key achievements, and future action plans covering January 2025 to June 2026. The presentation highlighted a wide range of interventions implemented under the Aporajeyo Tarunno (UYP) project to improve access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services for adolescents and young people.

Speakers emphasized that ensuring quality, youth-friendly SRHR services requires strong collaboration among government agencies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, development organizations, and local communities. They stressed that sustainable improvements in adolescent health can only be achieved through coordinated partnerships, knowledge sharing, and collective action.

The meeting also provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences, discussing emerging challenges, and identifying opportunities for expanding collaborative efforts to promote health equity, youth empowerment, and inclusive healthcare services across the Rangpur region.

The session was chaired by Animesh Roy, Project Officer of RHSTEP’s Rangpur UYP Centre, and moderated by Swarnali Acharya, Youth Officer. The event reaffirmed RHSTEP’s ongoing commitment to strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships, advancing youth-friendly SRHR services, and empowering adolescents and young people through the Aporajeyo Tarunno (UYP) project, contributing to a healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable Bangladesh.
