On 19 July 2026, RHSTEP’s Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) Gaibandha Centre organized a discussion session on “Empowering Young Women and Engaging Youth with Disabilities in Health Reform Efforts.” The session focused on promoting inclusion, women’s empowerment, youth leadership, and meaningful participation in health-related initiatives.
The program began with an introduction session facilitated by Youth Advocate Md. Liton Mia, creating a welcoming and participatory environment for the participants.
Mentor Irene Akter then provided an overview of RHSTEP and the Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) project, highlighting its objectives, ongoing activities, youth skill development, leadership, and the role of young people in bringing positive social change.
Project Officer Mst. Asfia Khatun explained the objectives of the discussion session and emphasized the importance of engaging youth with disabilities in program activities. She highlighted the need to ensure equal participation of young women and youth with disabilities in building a more inclusive society.
At the beginning of the discussion, participants were invited to share their expectations regarding the session in writing. This provided an opportunity for them to express their views and helped create a more interactive and participant-centered discussion.
Special guest and social worker Anjali Devi spoke about women’s empowerment, self-reliance, rights, and health awareness. She emphasized that meaningful progress toward an equitable society requires equal opportunities and active participation for women and youth with disabilities.
The session concluded with remarks from Project Officer Mst. Asfia Khatun, who encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained in their daily lives and contribute to positive change through awareness and social initiatives within their communities.
The discussion provided a meaningful platform for young participants to explore women’s empowerment, disability inclusion, leadership, and health reform, reinforcing RHSTEP’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people to participate actively in social development
