On 3 August 2026, RHSTEP’s Unlocking Youth Potential (UYP) Project organized an alumni meeting titled “Facilitate Regular Meeting, Webinars and Conference for Alumni to Share Experience and Best Practices-01” at Alordhara Pathshala, Noapara, Sylhet, with the aim of strengthening youth skills, leadership and mutual learning through experience sharing.
The meeting brought together peer educators, volunteers, Aparajeyo Tarunno advocates and mentors from different non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Sylhet. Participants shared their experiences of implementing activities within their respective organizations, highlighting successful initiatives, challenges and effective strategies adopted to address those challenges.
The discussion also focused on strengthening the role of alumni in youth development, leadership development, social awareness and sustainable development. Participants exchanged practical insights on how their experiences and skills could contribute to more effective youth engagement and social initiatives.
Representatives from six community groups under the project also participated in the meeting. They presented the activities implemented in their respective communities, achievements, challenges and ongoing issues. Community representatives shared their field-level experiences, key learnings and best practices, creating an opportunity for participants to learn from one another and identify approaches that could be applied more effectively in future community-based activities.
The experience-sharing session encouraged participants to reflect on their achievements and challenges while exploring practical ways to strengthen community engagement. Through this exchange, participants expressed their commitment to applying their learning and experiences to make future community-level interventions more effective and sustainable.
The meeting was chaired by Nihar Ranjan Das, Unit Manager, RHSTEP Sylhet, and facilitated by Mehedi Hasan, Project Officer, Aparajeyo Tarunno, RHSTEP Sylhet.
Participants emphasized that regular alumni meetings, webinars and experience-sharing platforms can play an important role in strengthening young people’s leadership, skills and social initiatives. Through this alumni engagement initiative, RHSTEP continues to create opportunities for young people, community representatives and development actors to connect, share knowledge and learn from practical experiences, contributing to stronger youth leadership and more effective community-level action.
