On 8 August 2026, RHSTEP’s Unlocking Youth Potential (UYP) Project organized an awareness session on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for young people in Kushirgul, Peer Bazar, Sylhet.
The session was facilitated by Mahfuz Alam, Mentor, UYP, and provided young participants with an opportunity to discuss important aspects of sexual and reproductive health and rights in an open and informative environment.
The discussion covered a range of key topics, including sexual and reproductive health, access to healthcare services, health and rights, health awareness and responsible health-seeking behavior. The session also addressed various common misconceptions surrounding SRHR, helping participants develop a clearer understanding of accurate and reliable health information.
Participants were encouraged to become more aware of their health and rights and to seek appropriate healthcare services responsibly when needed. The session emphasized the importance of having access to accurate information and making informed decisions regarding sexual and reproductive health.
Through such community-based awareness initiatives, RHSTEP continues to create opportunities for young people to access reliable SRHR information, challenge misconceptions and develop greater awareness of their health, rights and available healthcare services.
