RHSTEP’s Aparajeyo Tarunno Rangpur organized a dialogue and participatory workshop on “Ensuring Marginalized Community Participation in Health and SRHR Dialogue and Activities” on 18 August 2026. The initiative aimed to increase awareness of health and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and strengthen marginalized communities’ participation in accessing essential health services.
The session discussed key barriers to healthcare and SRHR services, including poverty, lack of awareness, social stigma, discrimination, limited disability-friendly infrastructure, and inadequate access to essential services.
Chief Guest Sabuj Roy, Upazila Family Planning Officer, Rangpur, highlighted the importance of awareness about family planning, reproductive health, and reproductive health rights. He also discussed available government health and family planning services and where community members can seek necessary support.
A participatory workshop followed, where participants from different communities identified health and SRHR challenges and proposed potential solutions. They also discussed the roles of communities and government in addressing these challenges and improving access to inclusive health and SRHR services.
The program was chaired by Animesh Roy, Project Officer, Aparajeyo Tarunno, Rangpur, and facilitated by Swarnali Acharya, Youth Officer. Dipa Rani, Youth Advocate, also provided an overview of RHSTEP and its initiatives.
