A special awareness program was organized today at the Mironjilla Harijan Community to promote the overall well-being of adolescents and young people. The main theme of the program was “Care for Adolescents’ Reproductive and Mental Health during Puberty.”

The session included important discussions on various aspects of adolescent physical and mental health. Key topics included the impact of hormonal changes during puberty, menstrual hygiene management and misconceptions surrounding menstruation, awareness regarding nocturnal emissions and ejaculation among adolescent boys, and the relationship between reproductive and mental health.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and raising awareness about the prevention of non-communicable diseases through proper health practices and behavioral changes.

The program was jointly facilitated and conducted by Senior Program Officer Akhtanin Khayer Tanin, Program Officer Zubaida Anjum Saba, Communication Officer Suraiya Jannat Sumi, Content Writer Nayan Chakraborty, Graphics Designer Sayma Akhtar, Trainer (Multimedia) Ahadul Siraj, Advocate Dipika Rani of Mironjilla Harijan Colony, and Mentor Anika Rani.

A total of 25 adolescents of different age groups from the Mironjilla Harijan Colony actively participated in the discussion session.

The program successfully created a supportive environment for learning and open discussion, strengthening awareness regarding adolescent reproductive health, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyle practices within the community.
