A special awareness program was held today at Shaheed Rumi Library in the Korail Community to promote the overall well-being of adolescents and young people. The main theme of the program was “Digital Addiction: Health Risks and Remedies for Adolescents.”
The session focused on the physical and mental health impacts of excessive digital dependency among adolescents. Discussions highlighted how digital addiction can negatively affect mental well-being, physical health, academic performance, and social relationships. Participants also explored preventive measures and healthy practices to reduce the harmful effects of excessive screen time and technology dependence.
At the end of the session, an informative documentary on digital addiction and mental health was screened, along with a special episode on digital addiction from the podcast series “কৈশোর তারুণ্যের কণ্ঠস্বর” (Voices of Adolescence and Youth).
The program was jointly facilitated and conducted by Program Officers Tanzina Sultana and Hojayfa Sakwan, Communication Officer Suraiya Jannat Sumi, Trainer (Multimedia) Ahadul Siraj, and Advocate Liza Akter from Shaheed Rumi Library, Korail Community.
A total of 28 adolescents from different age groups within the Korail Community actively participated in the program.
