RHSTEP – UYP Mymensingh, in collaboration with Chandrabati Film Society, organized a vibrant cultural and discussion program titled “Surer Kobitay Rabindra–Nazrul Bandona 2026” on 24 May 2026, commemorating the 165th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore and the 127th birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam.

The program was designed as a cultural gathering to honor two of the greatest literary figures of Bengal while promoting human values, cultural awareness, and creative development among young people. It served as a platform for reflection on their contributions to literature, music, and humanistic philosophy.

The event began with deep respect and tribute to both Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam. During the discussion session, speakers highlighted Tagore’s philosophy of humanism, beauty, and universal harmony, as well as Nazrul’s ideals of equality, rebellion against injustice, and human liberation. They emphasized the importance of engaging the younger generation in literature and cultural practices to build a more conscious, responsible, and humane society.

The cultural segment of the program was one of its most captivating highlights. It included performances of Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, poetry recitations, and solo songs. Young artists associated with RHSTEP – UYP Mymensingh showcased their talents through soulful performances that deeply impressed the audience, making the event emotionally enriching and lively.

Members of UYP also actively participated in the cultural activities, contributing to a collaborative and vibrant atmosphere that enriched the overall program. Their engagement reflected the spirit of youth empowerment, creativity, and cultural unity.

The organizers jointly emphasized that literature and cultural practice play a vital role in enhancing creativity, human values, and social responsibility among youth. The 2026 celebration was not only a tribute to two legendary poets but also a powerful expression of secular values, humanism, and cultural awakening, inspiring the younger generation to carry forward this legacy.
