RHSTEP Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) Mymensingh Unit organized a significant inclusive development program on 08 June 2026, focusing on women empowerment, disability inclusion, and the participation of marginalized communities including third-gender individuals. The program emphasized that sustainable development is only possible when every individual enjoys equal rights, dignity, and opportunities.

The event was designed to promote awareness on gender equality, health rights, social inclusion, leadership development, and access to state services, bringing together representatives from government and non-government organizations, youth participants, persons with disabilities, and third-gender community members.

The program officially began at 11:00 AM with the arrival of guests, followed by a warm floral reception and introduction session. The event was moderated by Youth Officer Md. Ershad Mia and presided over by Project Officer Ms. Resmina Haque.

Distinguished guests included Nasima Khatun, Programme Officer, Department of Women Affairs, Mymensingh, and Jahangir Alam, District Programme Coordinator, BRAC Mymensingh. The program opened with a dance-drama performance by Advocate Marzia and her team, setting a cultural tone for the event.

In the welcome speech, Youth Officer Md. Ershad Mia encouraged young people to actively contribute to positive social transformation. Mentor Jui spoke on women’s rights and empowerment, emphasizing that women’s empowerment is not only about individual development but also a fundamental pillar of building a just and equitable society.

During the experience-sharing session, Aditi Saha and Suravi Akter, representing the third-gender community, shared their life experiences, highlighting challenges related to discrimination, struggle, resilience, and self-confidence. Their stories deeply inspired all participants.

Special guest Jahangir Alam highlighted the responsibilities of families, society, and institutions in ensuring women’s rights and building an inclusive society free from discrimination.

Mentor Pravath Das delivered an informative presentation on women’s rights, disability health rights, and social inclusion, focusing on barriers to healthcare access, social acceptance, and the importance of inclusive development approaches.

A short film titled “Asma” was screened, portraying the struggles, dignity, and social realities faced by women, further strengthening the emotional and awareness impact of the program.

In the chief guest’s address, Nasima Khatun discussed government initiatives, free services, and opportunities for women’s development, encouraging women to become more self-reliant and take leadership roles in society.

In the closing remarks, Project Officer Ms. Resmina Haque reaffirmed the commitment to building an inclusive, humane, and equitable society and officially concluded the program
