On 11 June 2026, Thursday, RHSTEP Aparajeyo Tarunno Project organized an important session titled “From Gender Barrier to Gender Equity” at Banglamotor, Dhaka.
The session was chaired by Project Manager Mohammad Abu Raihan and moderated by Project Officer Hojayfa Sakwan, while the main facilitation was conducted by Assistant Professor Tania Mahmudha Tinni from United International University (UIU).
In her discussion, she highlighted key issues related to gender inequality in family and society, the importance of applying a gender lens in building equality, and the necessity of an equitable approach to ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of adolescents and youth.
Students from various schools and communities in Dhaka actively participated in group work sessions and awareness-based drama performances, sharing their perspectives on gender equality and social change. Their engagement reflected strong awareness and willingness to challenge existing gender stereotypes.
The program also included the screening of documentaries and short films produced by the Aparajeyo Tarunno Project, which further reinforced the message of gender equity and social inclusion.
As part of the closing activities, tree saplings were distributed among participants, symbolizing environmental awareness and responsibility towards sustainable development.
The event was attended by several key officials, including Deputy Project Manager SM Kamrul Ahsan, Senior Programme Officer Md. Azharul Haque, Project Officers Tanzina Sultana and Jubaida Anjum Saba, Communication Officer Suraiya Jannat Sumi, Content Writer Nayan Chakraborty, Trainer Ahadul Siraj, Youth Officer Rupom Roy Rup, and Web Developer Zakaria Islam, among others.
