About Aparajeyo Tarunno

Aparajeyo Tarunno (Unlocking Youth Potential - UYP) is a youth-led initiative working to develop leadership, creativity, and advocacy skills among young people. The program focuses on increasing awareness about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and empowering youth to become change-makers in their communities.

Through schools, communities, youth networks, and innovation programs, young people are trained to advocate for health, gender equality, and social inclusion across Bangladesh.

Participants highlighted significant improvements in their knowledge of SRHR, gender equality, and health practices, along with increased confidence to discuss sensitive issues and promote awareness within their families and communities.

Alumni Conference Held by UYP Chattogram Centre Highlights Youth Engagement and SRHR Awareness Impact

On 18 November 2025, Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP Project) Chattogram Centre organized an Alumni Conference, bringing together youth leaders who had participated in various awareness activities over the past eleven months. The alumni shared their experiences, reflections, and positive impacts gained through UYP interventions, and expressed their commitment to staying engaged in future initiatives. The session highlighted UYP’s year-long efforts in adolescent SRHR awareness, community engagement, and inclusion of marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, indigenous communities, and the third gender. Speakers emphasized the programme’s role in improving health awareness, reducing stigma, and strengthening community-level understanding through youth-led initiatives such as watchdog groups and theatre activities.

On 17 November 2025, UYP Rangpur Centre established a new Youth Health Council through an oath-taking ceremony, followed by a parliamentary-style debate session on integrating SRHR into Bangladesh’s education policy. Participants engaged in evidence-based discussions on key barriers, including conservative attitudes and structural challenges such as training gaps and resource limitations. The session featured active youth participation, expert moderation, and recognition of outstanding performers, while fostering leadership, critical thinking, and youth engagement in SRHR advocacy.

Watchdog Meeting on Health Service Gaps with Policymakers and Stakeholders Held by UYP Khulna Centre

On 19 November 2025, UYP Khulna Centre organized a “Watchdog Meeting on Health Service Gaps with Policymakers and Stakeholders,” where findings from field visits conducted on 13 and 17 November across multiple health facilities were presented. A 10-member Watchdog Team collected data and interviewed service recipients at MCWC, FWC, and community clinics to identify service gaps.
